About

Y. S. Chowdary

Shri Y. S. Chowdary joined politics to make a difference to people’s lives, motivated by the desire to serve and set an example. Being a first-generation politician, he had to quickly adapt to politics and devote himself to bring a change.

He joined Telugu Desam, a party he loved and admired because he was drawn to the ideas of its founder, late Sri N T Rama Rao. Having entered national politics in the year 2010, after relinquishing all positions in business and stake in various companies, he took up the challenge of working to bring back the party to power. As a highly dedicated member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), he was chosen to represent the State of Andhra Pradesh in the upper house of Indian Parliament.

He was elected as a Member of Parliament (M.P.) in the Rajya Sabha unopposed, representing the Telugu Desam Party from Andhra Pradesh, on June 22, 2010.

YS Chowdary became a very active Member of the Rajya Sabha, he participated keenly in all important issues raised in the house and was aware of his responsibilities towards the people and nation.
